What’s on your iPod? It is common for people to talk about Summer Reading — what about Summer Listening?
May I make a suggestion? How about using this summer to listen to one of the many free Seminary classes that are available for free online? I have listed below two sources for audio from actual seminary classes that are available for free online. You can listen to them as streaming audio or as an Mp3 download. If you don’t find something that interests you from the list below, check with me and I can set you up with a few more sources for similar material.
Available from BiblicalTraining.org (you have to take 30 seconds to sign up in order to gain access, but don’t worry about spam as they only send out an email 2 or 3 times a year, and usually it is just to let you know that more studies have been made available):

I am in the process of moving my favorite links from www.annotatedbookmarks.info to www.annotatedbookmarks.com. So, over the next few days I will probably be posting some of the links here just to make sure I don’t lose them in the transition.
Here are some of my favorite places to listen to free audio (or download the Mp3) of lectures, seminars, sermons and debates:
Seminary level classes taught by some truly great teachers. If you want to know what I am listening to on my Mp3 player at any given time, it was probably downloaded from this site. Ron Nash – Daniel Wallace – Bruce Ware – Thomas Schreiner – Bill Mounce – Gerald Bray – and many more.
Free Mp3 downloads from classes taught at Covenant Theological Seminary. I love the diversity of the courses they have made available; Francis A. Schaeffer, Christian Ethics, Apologetics, and much more.
They offer audio downloads in apologetics, theology, and philosophy. Much of the material was delivered outside of the United States so it has a different rhetorical feel to it than what Americans are used to. I think that their worldview and cultural criticsm offerings are probably their best materials but explore the site and find what interests you.
The MP3 sermon archive from Bent Tree Bible Fellowship featuring sermons by Pete Briscoe, Stuart Briscoe, Steve Pruitt, Scott Dyer, and others.
Check out both his sermons and radio broadcasts. Barry teaches Humanities at Criswell College at Philosophy at other local Universities. I consider him to be one of the greatest preachers I know.
Where else can you go and get Mp3 downloads from Alvin Plantinga, Peter Kreeft, Os Guinnes, John Warwick Montgomery, William Lane Craig, Hugh Ross, Madeleine L’Engle, Hugh Ross, Nicholas Wolterstorff, Philip Johnson, J.P. Moreland, Doug Groothius, Ravi Zacharias, Walter Bradley, Ron Nash, Nancy Pearcey, Craig Blomberg, Michael Behe, Eleanor Stump, Dallas Willard, and a ton of others. This link probably ought to go to the top of my list.
I think that W.A. Criswell was probably the greatest preacher of the twentieth century. He was a man with clay feet like all the rest of us, but what an amazing expositor of God’s Word. At this site you can find more than 1900 recordings of his sermons preached between 1954 and 1998. The sermon catalogue can be searched by date, topic, Bible verse, category, and word.
A diverse selection of his lectures on philosophy, theology, and culture.
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary Chapel
As with most seminary chapel sermons there are a mixed bag of offerings; some intellectually challenging, some passionate appeals, some exegetical masterpieces and a few that you have to wonder about. Some speakers you will find here include Paige Patterson, Albert Mohler, O.S. Hawkins, Mark Dever, Jimmy Draper, Stephen Westerholm, Jerry Sutton, Junior Hill, and others.
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
Chapel sermons from such notables as Albert Mohler, Russell Moore, Frank Page, Gordon Wenham, Tom Nettles, Alistair Begg, Johnny Hunt, Ligon Duncan, and more.
Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary
Chapel messages from Danny Akin, Tom Elliff, Chuck Kelley, Andreas Konsterberger, Jay Strack, James Walker, Jerry Vines, Gene Edward Veith, Thom Rainier, Jerry Rankin, and more.
The Master’s Seminary
Cogent thoughtful messages presented by John MacArthur and the faculty of The Master’s Seminary. Very good stuff, but limited quanity. Come on guys, give us more.
I think that John MacArthur is probably the second greatest Bible teacher of our era (the first being Barry Creamer). His Grace To You recordings are made available here at OnePlace.com. However, it appears that the older ones rotate off so be sure that you check this site out frequently.
Recordings of Union University Chapel messages and many of the Union University Conferences. Audio recordings of the Baptist Identity Conference can be found here as well as many other thoughtful presentations.
Kim Riddlebarger, Michael Horton, Ken Samples, and more.

Augustine’s Confessions is one of my favorite books. Christian Audio is now offering free audio downloads of the book through the end of August. I have downloaded and listened to the Mp3 files and they are well done.

The most consistently popular post on any of my blogs is my list of links to free online audio downloads of Lectures, Seminars, Sermons, & Debates. I have recently added to this list two new links that I would like to draw to your attention. Currently, there are more than 5,000 downloads a month from the sermon archives at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship. And, Barry Creamer has returned to the World of Blog and has up links to download his radio broadcasts on Jerry Johnson Live and some of his most recent sermons. Both are excellent resources. Check them out.

I recently posted about the seminary level training made available by Third Millenium Ministries. There are now some great resources available online for anyone who wants to pursue a more in depth knowledge of the Bible. There is a great list of online resources that can be found HERE. The list is annotated so you can sort through and find the audio downloads for which you have the most interest.
